Paulo is an interdisciplinary researcher that focuses his work in the intersections of physics and music technology. He holds a Research Masters in Computer Music at the University of Plymouth, with focus in pioneering applications of quantum technologies in audio, music expression, and musical instrument design. Additionally, he has a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of São Paulo. In 2023, Paulo was one of the executive managers and hosts of the 2nd International Symposium on Quantum Computing and Music Creativity (ISQCMC) in Berlin, as well as editor of the ISQCMC conference proceedings.

Paulo is currently enrolled as a PhD student at The Cyprus Institute as part of the ERA chair grant in Quantum Computing for Excellence in Science and Technology (QUEST), in collaboration with the Center for Quantum Technologies and Applications in DESY, Germany, where he has a position as a Graduate Research Assistant. As part of his PhD research, he is investigating applications of Variational Quantum Algorithms for High Energy Physics simulations, as well as developing tools for scientific sonification and visualization of quantum algorithms/quantum circuit design for enhanced comprehension, scientific divulgation and other applications.
