Abstract

The talk will introduce InSysBio expertise in the field of Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) and Mechanistic PK/PD Modeling. QSP Modeling requires a vast range of computational procedures including solving large-scale differential equations systems, Monte-Carlo simulations, parameter estimation, uncertainty quantification etc. Applicability of the relevant analytical and numerical methods to complex dynamical systems is of utmost importance for QSP field.
Identifiability analysis, parameters estimation, biomarkers discovery, virtual patients simulations and other mathematical and computational problems of QSP modeling will be the primary focus of the talk.

About the Speakers

Evgeny Metelkin, PhD, Director of Software Development Department, Co-founder, InSysBio CY Ltd
Evgeny MetelkinEvgeny earned his Master of Science in Biochemical Physics from the Department of Physics of Lomonosov Moscow State University in 2004, followed by the completion of his PhD in Biophysics in 2008.
With an extensive background in modeling, Evgeny has contributed to diverse projects, ranging from modeling energy metabolism in mitochondria to PBPK modeling of proteins and nanoparticles. He has played a pivotal role in population PK/PD modeling of biotherapeutics for informed decision-making in clinical and preclinical studies.

His expertise extends to modeling anti-inflammatory therapies for conditions such as COPD, Rheumatoid arthritis, and coronary arterial disease. Additionally, he has been involved in QSP modeling to analyze clinical data on FAAH inhibitors for chronic pain treatment.
Throughout his career, Evgeny has been instrumental in the development and maintenance of cutting-edge software tools for modeling and data analysis, including DBSolve, Circulator, HetaSimulator, LikelihoodProfiler, and more.

Presently, Evgeny's primary focus lies in advancing areas such as the development of infrastructure for QSP modeling, identifiability and sensitivity analysis, and refining optimal modeling workflows in QSP projects.

Ivan Borisov, Senior software developer, InSysBio CY Ltd
Ivan BorisovIvan received his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Department of Mathematics and Mechanics of Lomonosov Moscow State University in 2011.

After graduation from the University Ivan joined the Moscow branch of IBM East Europe/Asia. He worked in the software department providing customers with technical support and «prove of concept» implementation of IBM products including UrbanCode Deploy, BlueMix, Cloud Orchestrator (OpenStack), SmartCloud Monitoring, etc.In 2017, Ivan joined InSysBio as mathematician and software developer, where he continues to work till present in the role of senior software developer. Under supervision of Evgeny Metelkin Ivan participates in the development of key InSysBio software tools for QSP models’ simulations and analysis, namely Julia-based package for simulations and parameters estimation HetaSimulator.jl, practical identifiability toolkit LikelihoodProfiler.jl, packages for Virtual Patients generation, etc.

Beyond software development, Ivan is engaged in the enhancement of mathematical and computational methods for QSP modeling. Ivan is the author and co-author of InSysBio scientific posters annually presented at international conferences PAGE and ACoP.
