Archaeolandscapes: Using aerial imagery to study the archaeological landscape

Funding scheme:
EU Cultures program
Funding period:
36 months
Starting date:
pending
Coordinator:
Deutsche Archaeological Institute
Synopsis

The project will explore, through a number of case studies, how to store, manage and use a vast amount of WWII aerial photographs recently made available for free. This will imply a series of comparisons with more recent imagery and tools for manipulating the images. Raising awareness in the heritage community is also part of the project activities.
