Research Scientist in Future Technologies for High Performance Computing Center
The Cyprus Institute (CyI, www.cyi.ac.cy) is a novel, non-profit research and educational institution, with a scientific and technological orientation, with a regional scope. The Computation-based Science and Technology Research Center (CaSToRC, castorc.cyi.ac.cy) of the CyI, in partnership with the University of Illinois and its National Center for Supercomputing Applications, is developing as an important research resource for CyI, Cyprus and the Eastern Mediterranean, acting as a gateway between the EU and the region for advancing computational science and technology.
CaSToRC is currently in the process of implementing the infrastructure project Cy-Tera, which includes a multi-Teraflop High Performance Computing (HPC) facility. CaSToRC is also leading the EU-funded LinkSCEEM-2 project which aims to support the development of a HPC eco-system in the Eastern Mediterranean by interlinking and coordinating regional compute, data and visualization resources to form an integrated e-platform. The Center represents Cyprus within the Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe (PRACE) initiative and is a partner to the EU funded PRACE-1IP (First Implementation Phase) project.
