Irene enrolled in the Energy, Environment and Atmospheric Sciences PhD program of the Cyprus Institute as a PhD Student on a part-time basis in March 2023 under the supervision of Professor Theodoros Zachariadis. Her research interests include the development of energy systems models in conjunction with policy analysis, and to better represent the interlinkages of climate and energy science with economics, behavioural aspects and finance dynamics.
Her PhD research focuses on Integrated Assessment Models in the fields of energy and climate. She is part of the CyI team led by Dr Constantinos Taliotis in the context of the DIAMOND project and specifically CLEWS-EU, an expansion of the global climate, land, energy, and water systems (CLEWs) framework in each EU country.
