Christoforos Skourides has a strong background in Engineering and Physics holds a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University (USA) and a MSc in Aerodynamics in the department of Aerospace Engineering from TU Delft (NL). Christoforos’ professional experience started from the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne ‐ EPFL where he worked as Lab technician at EPFL Interdisciplinary Aerodynamics and Turbomachinery Groups while developing research in ozone combustion for engine performance enhancement for Ferrari S.p.A in the labs of EPFL.
He continued as Production Engineer at AMDM Composites Ltd. where he worked on the design of pilot production lines and on new systems for material consolidation in order to scale-up production. Following this he has worked on a variety of research engineering projects for applications ranging from the Agricultural industry to the Biomedical industry, all funded by the Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation.
Currently Christoforos is employed by ReCover Ltd., a spin-off of CyI, as a process engineer for engineering and design of a low-cost in-house developed electrospinning system and its optimization in terms of chemical processes, controls, and overall system efficiency. At the same time, he is now pursuing an MPhil in Atmospheric Sciences under the auspices of Prof. George Biskos at the Environmental Technologies lab. His thesis dissertation is on "Versatile & Low-Cost Electrohydrodynamic Atomization System for Synthesizing Gas Sensing Nanomaterials''.
