Giannis received his PhD in Theoretical Physics from the University of Cyprus in 2008. Between 2008 and 2010 he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Wuppertal, while working as guest scientist at the Jülch Supercomputing Center in Germany.
Giannis joined CaSToRC in 2011 as an Associate Research Scientist and since 2013 is Assistant Professor in Computational Science. His research focuses on the computational study of the theory of strong interactions, known as lattice QCD, where he has gained extensive experience in high performance computing and in programming of novel computer architectures.
Current projects he is involved in include the European projects EuroCC, AQTIVATE, and ENGAGE, as well as the national projects NiceQuarks and 3D-nucleon.
