Eleni Agathocleous is currently an Assistant Professor at The Cyprus Institute. She received her PhD in Mathematics (Algebraic and Algorithmic Number Theory) from the University of Maryland, College Park. Her research is interdisciplinary, focusing on the interactions between number theory, cryptography, and quantum computing. Prior to this appointment, she held research positions at institutes in Germany and at CyI.

She worked on Algorithmic and Mathematical Cryptology at the CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security, on cryptography and quantum computing at the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) and at QUEST-CyI, and received a research grant from the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Bonn (MPIM), where she continued her research on the mathematical foundations of isogeny-based cryptography. Her work focuses on bridging mathematical theory with quantum computing, with applications to cryptography and related areas of quantum information science.
