CyI Researchers Listed Among Top 2% of World's Leading Scientists Featured

A number of researchers from The Cyprus Institute have recently been listed in the August 2024 update of the prestigious “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators”, compiled by Stanford University (USA) and published by Elsevier.  Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields, and the selection is based on the top 100,000 scientists or a percentile rank of 2% or above in the sub-field.
 
The database is based on an August 1, 2024, snapshot of Scopus data. Career-long data are updated to end-of-2023, and single recent year data pertain to citations received during calendar year 2023.
 
Nine researchers from The Cyprus Institute are on this list:
  1. Prof. Salvatore Carlucci, associated with the Energy, Environment, and Water Research Center (EEWRC)
  2. Prof. Constantine Dovrolis, Director of the Computation-based Science and Technology Research Center (CaSToRC)
  3. Prof. Vangelis Harmandaris, ERA Chair Professor, associated with the Computation-based Science and Technology Research Center (CaSToRC)
  4. Prof. Karl Jansen, ERA Chair Professor, associated with the Computation-based Science and Technology Research Center (CaSToRC)
  5. Prof. Wojciech Lipiński, associated with the Energy, Environment, and Water Research Center (EEWRC)
  6. Assoc. Prof. Efthymia Nikita, associated with the Science and Technology in Archaeology and Culture Research Center (STARC)
  7. Prof. Thilo Rehren, A.G. Leventis Professor, associated with the Science and Technology in Archaeology and Culture Research Center (STARC)
  8. Prof. Theodoros Zachariadis, Interim Director of the Energy, Environment, and Water Research Center (EEWRC); Interim Director of the Science and Technology Driven Policy and Innovation Research Center (STeDI-RC)
  9. Dr. George Zittis, Research Scientist, associated with the Climate and Atmosphere Research Center (CARE-C)
