DARECLIMED goals can be summarised as follows.

i. To create the appropriate environment for the formation of a regional data infrastructure devoted to paleo-, current- and future climate, energy and water related data

ii. To improve the availability of data relevant to climate change assessments for the Eastern Mediterranean region and the Middle East

iii. To identify and engage stakeholders in the region that have access to, own or have collected relevant  data

iv. To define conditions under which data can be shared while protecting the rights of all stakeholders

v. To develop broadly accepted quality control standards and agree on common representations of the data

vi. To develop a framework  and capacity for comparison of regional climate model projections, simulation results and multiple datasets, advancing the optimal use of computational resources

vii. To explore the existing possibilities to build-up and construct a physical regional infrastructure for climate research, assessing the current use of regional  computing resources.
