This project is providing Technical Assistance to national authorities of Cyprus for improving their capacity to design, develop and implement reforms in energy and climate policy.
The project has three expected outcomes: new Information & Communication policies for the internal electricity market; a new legislative and regulatory framework for increasing the penetration of renewable energy and strengthening the role of consumers; and the revision of the Cypriot integrated National Energy and Climate Plan.
CyI is providing the tools, assumptions and data to update the National Energy and Climate Plan of Cyprus in line with the relevant EU legislation. It is also assisting in the update of the National Long-Term Building Renovation Strategy, which is also part of the same Plan.
